The inventive Seattle-based, Skyros Quartet, joins other talented local musicians (including me) to present string chamber works composed for ensembles larger than the quartet. Join them for a performance of seldom-performed works, including the famed Mendelssohn String Octet in E-flat. Written when he was just 16 years old, rivalled only by Mozart, this work is said to best portray Mendelssohn’s “raw talent” and musical genius.
